Are you ready to lead the charge in a rapidly evolving logistics landscape? AstraZeneca is establishing a world-leading Logistics Center of Excellence to navigate changing environmental demands. Our Global Logistics Function is pivotal in managing the movement of our products worldwide, ensuring the seamless performance of our end-to-end supply chain. As the Americas Trade Management Lead, you'll bring your deep expertise in international import and export requirements for healthcare products, with a particular focus on the Americas market borders. You'll be instrumental in providing specialist support to supply sites globally, designing international supply chains, negotiating trade terms, and leading the North America Import and Compliance team. Accountabilities
In this dynamic role, you'll be the Americas Regional Process Owner for import/export, offering expertise on tariff and custom laws, rules, and regulations. You'll ensure compliance with import/export matters, act as an escalation point for queries, and support strategic priorities like the Control Tower project and new shipping lanes. Your responsibilities will include developing regional Import/Export standards, defining market master files, conducting audits, and maintaining relationships with government agencies. You'll monitor regulations for changes and collaborate with various functions to optimize trade flows. As a member of the Americas Logistics Leadership Team, you'll shape regional strategy and contribute to the future design of our global logistics network.
Essential Skills/Experience
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant or related discipline
Extensive experience working with customs, brokers, freight forwarders within the Americas
Hold a professional qualification in international logistics
Holder of a valid broker’s license by the Professional Regulatory Board for Customs Brokers
Detailed knowledge of various government agencies regulating global trade and extensive knowledge of regional regulations
Knowledge of Pharmaceutical production supply chain principles, Good Manufacturing Practice, Food & Drug Administration requirements (or equivalent), Customs rules and regulations
Ability to integrate information technology as it supports/impacts business processes related to international trade
Ability to forge and manage strong relationships with outside service providers related to international trade compliance
Proven track record in sustaining Trade Compliance
Proven leadership capabilities including the ability to collaborate and lead a multi-cultural trade compliance culture
Proven capability in driving operational optimization and alignment
Strong capabilities in stakeholder management & organizational communication, and the ability to influence at senior management levels
